Hi all,

Sorry they took a little longer than expected but here they are.

I made lots of film of my standard exhaust on my S2 111S, and then made a comparison tape with my new Larini back box on it.

Hopefully they'll be of use to people, as it's a common question that comes up....

Comparison 2 (from inside the car)

Comparison 3 (car starting up from cold)

Hope it's of use

Thanks
Tony

It is amazing how different the car sounds with the Larini. So much more impressive than the original one. It sounds like a proper mean machine now.

Wow... what an amazing transformation... I want one! Shame mine's only an S1.... the jury is still out on what the best system for the S1 is, consensus seems to agree that for the S2, the Larini is king.

I'd go along with that but, of course, I guess it's all a matter of opinion. As you can hear from those videos though - it certainly transforms the car!

It does sound amazing, throttle response any better?

The main difference I noted was that the engine was far more free to rev. For example when at idle, or when changing down (heel and toe) the engine didn't have so much 'restriction' to changing the revs so quickly.

It just felt, well, 'more free'. I think with that came slightly better throttle response, but nothing hugely different. Alot of it may have just been the placebo affect of course, so I do say all the above with a pinch of salt. It changes the essence of the car so much that the whole thing feels different, as such.

I'm sure many people would welcome some sort of video comparison for your S1 Larini exhaust, if you get an opportunity Mr_C!! (Espirit was asking above, for example).

Get it fitted and enjoy!!!

Tony

I cant access the vids in work but will have a look tonight.

Larini have a reputation for being very well made and producing a nice tone, not just noise.

You will have to bring it to the next VMAX so we can compare.

Yeah - they quality of the exhaust is very good - I agree entirely with that!

re next VMax, to be honest, I'm not too worried about doing a VMax in it simply because of my (relatively) low speeds. HOWEVER, I will certainly be doing a track day in it (post EuroHoon) and so that should be alot of fun, I think!

You got anything planned track-day-wise?!

Certainly have. Donnington a week tomorrow.

Its an expensive day but I'm doing it because its an unsilenced day so my Stage 2 exhaust wont be a problem. Also wanted to do Donnington for ages.

Should be good. There is a S1 Exige going and a few Elises.

Probably be my last track day this year (apart from a few sessions at the action day at Castle Combe in September)

Will need new tyres after next week and then should be completing on my house shortly afterwards so will have to watch the pennies.

I'll indeed have to have a listen when it's done.... is yours the "sports" or the "club sport" exhaust? I know there's a difference in price but can't really tell what that is.

You do not like that empty left hand lane, do you?!

But on a serious note, it makes it sound like the sports car that it should be (if I had my eyes closed, I would never have guessed the sound was from an Elise).

Do you mind if I ask how much it cost? (am thinking about an Exige, so assume they would do a similar thing for that at a similar price).

I had the ClubSport on in the end... principally because it was cheaper and i couldn't see the advantages of the sport for £50 more(i put a thread on here but no-one knew either). the sport might be a bit quieter.

only 2 days till it's fitted now...
