Yes the tub holds together well.
Occupants are going to feel a bit stiff in the morning though.

wow, indeed a wonder that tube did hold so well, also the occupants...

I guess V-tec did kick in on the wrong moment... looks like a Honda V-tec engine and other coilovers and exhaust etc, tuned Elise.

Looks to me more likely to be rear toe link failure which is unfortunately quite common on elise family. Slow mo of the video looks like the rear wheel is already pointing in whilst airborne before impact.

I was extremely lucky that mine failed last year on a 15mph corner on the road, rather than 3 days before on track at Brands hatch.

Lift off oversteer another potential elise/exige candidate if under hard acceleration just before, but that normally requires some kind of steering input at the same time to promote such sudden breakaway. In this video they looked to be travelling in complete straight line and it just went.

Uprated spitfire toe link kit now installed !

Exactly. Its one of those things, you only find out is a common issue when you google it after it happened to you.

I was totally unaware it was quite common on elise derivatives and VX220. It was only after my lucky escape i discovered all the videos on youtube.

Mine were inspected at previous service 2 months before and looked fine from the outside.
