How many white ones are out there?

From what I can deduce out of around 10600 S1 built, there were 153 white ones, spread those around the planet and you see why they are a rare sight in the UK, which is a pity because they look really good in white. If you are after one don't hold your breath.

I can't ever recall seeing a white one, but I agree that it looks great in that photo.

Especially combined with those wheels, it somehow gives it a more 'mean' look.

It's funny, when the S1 was launched, white was not in fashion yet, hence low order numbers. I only know of one that was ordered back then, and it looked dreadful to me, and I'd never have wanted one. Now though, as white is much cooler these days, the rare white ones look fantastic, and I know of a few that have repainted their S1s to white.

Way back in 2001 I decided I wanted a white S1 Elise with a blue interior. I asked Lotus Cars how many white S1s were sold into the UK market and was told "in the region of 15-20", with the addition of "a small number of which will have had blue leather. For how many lifetimes do you want to search?"

One month later a white S1 with blue leather (albeit with green racing stripes) turned up in a dealership just an hour's drive from where I worked. Funny how things turn out

Type 23 white is an off-white. S1 colour is Monaco White (B01) and much, well, whiter.

I think there were only 4 rhd white Elises, 1 was in Scotland.
