Hi

I have just seen an 52 plate Elise s2 on ebay with c.55k on the clock - its high mileage which doesnot bother me as it will be a second car - any thoughts on what it will be worth / things to look out for?

Thanks
Mark

any more info?

high mileage isn't necessarily a problem - if it's been well looked after, and had many niggles sorted out, it could be a great car indeed!

Hi.

All i know is that it is a silver S2 and in Milton Keynes - the advert also says motorway miles only (would guess thats true i.e. commute to London / nottingham maybe?).

I was just hoping to get a stear on what you guys think my maximum bid should be?!

Thanks
Mark

actually i called them up on monday and was told it was a salesman's car and mostly motorway miles

i had to ask for th emileage as it's not noted in autotrader.

incidentally the garage selling it normally sells vans and lorries

yeah seems like a hell of a lot for one with that mileage

i'd say £13k would be reasonable

55k High milage? Pah!! That's nothing.

Make sure it's well serviced

Make sure it's had the 'C' service at around 45,000 miles as this is the pricy one that includes the cam belt.

Make sure it's not too rattly indicating the usual wear items that if properly maintained should not be ab issue such as worn bushes, rack, ball joints etc... Get an independent assesment, even someone who is very Elise experiencesd should be enough of a guide to tell. Not a big deal if it does need suspension work, just costs.

Good luck in your search,

Chromed Orange 80,000miles and going fine
