Best wheels for elise S1 ?
Discussion
Yes you can - but you will need to fit the arch spats that the 111s had fitted (since it ran a larger wheel.
also you will need to accept that in a compression the wheels will rub on the clam shell to some extent
you must run at standard suspension settings - if you run a lowered car then they will not fit.
some owners have had no problems with exige wheels - others have had to take them off again as they rub too much...
why not fit the five spoke motorsport wheels in black ?

Why do you have to fit the spats?
I thought Lotus had to do that to meet legal requirements, but as an after fit item, who is going to check.
There are rules about amount of rubber beyond the bodywork, but really you would be going from a 205 to a 225 on the rear. Much more and you would have all the clearance problems as mentioned above.
Only my understanding, a phone call to the dealer will settle it.

yep thats the rules as I understood - I thought the exige rear was a 225 profile item (ie unlikely to have a 205 rubber on it)
therefore spats - agreed its pedantic from a legal point of view - I don't even think the MOT or any normal copper would know the difference.
Dealers will say the exige wheel does not fit ! (In 99% of cases)
