I’ve managed to get my V6 S out of storage finally after almost two years!
When I select sports mode there is no noticeable difference, the light comes on but I feel/hear nothing. Before I remember it was quite noticeable. Any ideas ?

Don't know about the specifically, but having had similar issues on my 410, people seem to have quite a lot of issues in this area. Mine wasn't used much before me. I had a new brake switch and connections re made to the MAF and the ABS unit which made Sports and race work again.

It also transformed the normal running.

Sport mode only really shortens the throttle travel so you'll only feel it when driving. Race Mode and Race Mode + are the only 2 modes you'll hear a difference when you select it. Idling speed is higher when you select Race / Race+ and the dash lights change.

Mine is louder when you switch from Touring to Sport on tickover, so sounds like the switch isn't working any more. Throttle response a lot sharper in Sport.

On the V6S, isn't the main difference between Normal and Sport the removal of the Understeer Control function, the Rev Limit increase, and the point at which the Exhaust valve opens?

For the later cars like the 410, the exhaust valve remains the same in all modes due to the EU regulations.

Thanks for the replies, yes it’s a 2015 with the rotary switch and I think it’s probably that, although on the dash it does light up sport.
The exhaust note and throttle response don’t change so I’m sure even though the light is on it’s not changed modes

Another possibility is the exhaust flap actuator solenoid has failed. The exhaust is supposed to open at idle in Sport mode (then closes at low engine revs before opening later on in the rev range). If you can confirm on the dash the mode has been selected but dont' hear a difference in exhaust volume, then it could be this. A previous V6 of mind suffered this issue, and quite a few others.

The other comments are correct on the additional differences between Sport and Touring (sharper pedal map, no understeer detection/control, and different TC/ESP setup).
