Hi.

Sport 160 has developed a misfire. Was going to change the coil, leads, dis cap rota arm and plugs as they are about due anyway but where is the coil located? Had ten mins looking from the top with no joy. Any help much appreciated.

The coil is underneath the inlet manifold mounted on the block smile

A Sport 160 with a misfire? How can you tell? biggrin

(God I miss that lumpy idle...)

I used to get misfire after rain or cold weather, just from water in the plug wells. A good skoosh of WD40 and dry-out usually solved it. I'm sure you've checked the obvious but might be worth a go.

Hahaha, yes checked the plug wells. Issue did start after it rained though. Is the the coil accessible from the top at all or do I need to take the rear tray off? Cheers

You’ll find it much easier working from underneath.

Cheers think I’ve found it think I saw a faint spark in the area of the coil, not sure. Will change and see what happens.
