Second boot release for S2 Exige

I'm sure I've seen this done somewhere before but can't find reference to it now.
S2 Exige uses a cable release like the S1 Elise. Handle is on driver side behind door opening. I like the idea of having a back up option if the cable fails. I assume, I could get the parts for a LHD Exige and fit those to the passenger side so I have a second release. Anyone seen this done and what is involved?
