I'm picking up my Elise in the next few days and due to how short my wife is, the Sparco 310 steering wheel would aid her visibility due to it being a flat top. I assume the two red buttons being used for a horn will still ensure it's legal.

Will the unusual shape be ok to use for road use? I've only ever used oval steering wheels. It measures 260mm by 310mm

Presumably it's an old Elise? Because removing an air-bag is an MoT fail these days.

Regarding the flat bottom, there's certainly no law against it but flat-bottomed wheels on anything where you expect to move your hands around the wheel feel very odd to me. For the horn, I think all you need is a way to activate it - on my old MGB I moved the horn down to a button on the dashboard because the steering wheel I was using I had didn't have a switch for it.

What happens to her visibility when she goes round corners?

Good question! I would plan to get the seat modifications carried out first and then look at the steering wheel.
