Discussion
Have recently entered into the world of Elise ownership and loving it so far (2007, S2). (Will post a pic later!)
However, the front number plate took a dislike to being dragged over a slight dip in my drive and came loose on one screw. Inspection reveals this to have been a common occurrence over its life. I've managed it reattach it but it's a little skew-whiff and there's no space for another hole so I need to get a new plate and drill new holes away from those that are already there.
So, couple of questions....
1: Are there any properly secure sticky pads that work as well as screws or is screws the way to go?
2: What's the ruling on little plates? I've seen them on some Elises but from what I can determine, they should legally be full size - unless there's an exemption that I've not spotted.

I’ve owned my S2 over 18 years now, I’ve caught the the front number plate numerous times which has resulted it being ripped from ‘screwed securement to clam’ . And a few number plates and light clam repair.
I’ve had a miniature “illegal” plate on the front for the last 10 years, as it looks better and avoids the resulting problems on the unforeseen.
I’ve never been pulled by BIB.
However, recently, I’ve become aware that just about just about anything is illegal and against the law in this country (changeable on a daily basis).
Today’s latest is probably going to be ‘Wolfwhistelling’.
I was 40 when I when the small plate route, and couldn’t give much of a toss, I’m nearly 50 now - and if I got hit with a fine from over zealous controlling authority in excess of £100.
I’d be pissed off.
I’ll go back to the small plate when I’m not using my Elise as a daily - just for the intended 20 min hot runs.
Avoiding towns and ANPR.
I have two front plates.
Both held on with Velcro
