What combination for best sound? (S1 Elise)
Discussion
I'm wondering what people are running in the way of exhaust/cat/air filter combinations?
Currently I've got an unidentified sports exhaust, de-cat and a K&N conical air filter, all fitted by the previous owner. I liked it at first but I'm now getting a bit tired of the noise, particularly the droning at 50-70mph. My friend, following on his motorbike, said I sounded like a boy racer.
I'm aiming for something still in character with the car, maybe keeping the pops and crackles, but a bit more subtle/refined and less drone-y at cruising speed.
I'd be curious to hear thoughts on how best to achieve this. Cat back in, standard air filter, different exhaust, or a combination of these all options.
