Hi.
Is there any simple way to understand exactly when my Elise was built? It’s an S1 sport 135/99.
I assume it’s 1999 (or late 98?) but exactly when? My car is number 34 of the 35 135/99’s. Thanks in advance.

The 10th digit/letter of the chassis no will give you year W = 1998 and X = 1999. Anything more specific I think you would need to contact Lotus.

Can't help you further I'm afraid but great choice of car! I have number 8 of the original 50, which was built very late 1998, delivered January 1999.

Thanks Ben - yeah i love it - it doesnt get driven much unfortunately as i work out of the country - somewhat driving my initial question. So it would make sense if yours is 8 of 50 from the first batch, and it was built right at the end of 98, mines going to be substantially into 99 . i was curious if Lotus were doing the same thing as major manufacturers do and my "99" car was actually a 98. Guess not!!. Ive been in contact with Lotus for more info
