Picked mine up on Friday and went through some farily crap weather over the w/e and it stayed leak free (except the time I got caught out....). I am a happy man, only problems thus far are a small area of paint needs respraying, an erratic squeak from somewhere (suspension?), my Lotus badge is coming unstuck from the gear lever and...... I don't have an interior light !!!! - god knows how that got missed, but I didn't notice it when I picked the car up as I wasn't really fodcussing on that.... Still cleared the 600 mile 3,000 rpm hurdle and the engine seems to be running a lot freer than when I picked it up, 1st service Wednesday then I can really see what she does...

I have found the best way to stop my Elise I from leaking is to spray the cloth hood with Fabsil or Tent Waterproofing spray (Whenit is off the Car!) It has worked for 3 years so far and I use the car every day.

The S2 is tested in a machine which directs hundreds of jet nozzles spraying water onto it for a certain amount of time (I think a couple of minutes). It deemed to have failed if there is more than 1 drop of water every 4 seconds (the VX220 is 1 every 3secs). Of course this doesn't apply to the old Elise, bugger!
