Hi Folks,

Well finally after visiting this site for quite some time now, I decided to say hello.

I thought owning an elise would be something I could do when I was 50, when the kids were at or done with Uni and all things dad was supposed to do had been done...but after recent events we decided "Life Is Too Short" and so my wife said "Why not get an elise now". Whhhooowooooo...I don't need telling twice!

I noticed a guy near were I lived had a 135 so I tracked him down, knocked at the door and after an initial embarrassment, and 5 mins of not looking like a complete loon, he started to tell me of the joys of owning an elise. Two hours later we were driving through the country lanes with me looking like a cheshire cat. Needless to say it was 3.30am the next morning before the grin subsided, my wife got any peace and I got to sleep.

So I just thought I'd drop a line and introduce myself. I'm sure there will be lots of questions from me and advice I may well need along the way. I look forward to chatting with some of you guys in the future.

By the way, if any one does have any buying advice other than what i've read in the forums, I'm interested in purchasing an S2, so all comments greatly received...I'll keep you posted!

Thanks for listening.

Regards,

Mac

Welcome to the party,

YOU ARE RIGHT, IT IS NOW..; and also in the future but I would not wait 50 to experience the Elise.
It is the most fabulous and affordable sportscars you can choose.
My limited experience is to be fool enough to buy one but not impatient enough to pick the first which looks at first sight ok. I did the mistake with my Esprit and it cost me a fortune to maintain it to finally sell it due to the lack of low speed thrills (Exactly what the Elise gives you)
The Elise is also very cheap to maintain and keep quite well its value. So look for the model you want, define your budget, ask a dealer or an expert to assist you in case of private deal. and ENJOY
As someone told me when I was waiting for mine "Every drive without an Elise is a wasted trip"
Good luck, welcome again

Mac, welcome to the madhouse matey

You're doing the right thing, the missus must be a saint. Get it quick before she changes her mind and wants a new kitchen or a conservatory!!

If you've not found them already there's a bunch of great resources out there for you to peruse. Just hit up the "Search" section of the forums for buying guides, insurance, tips etc. and you'll find a plethora of info.

Enjoy - you'll never look back

Thanks Works,

Wifes' just had the kitchen last Christmas and the conservatory a couple of years before, so I'm safe on that front.

Because of my holiday and other commitments right now, it looks as though the car may be a late August purchase...aaaahhhhhhhhh (where has the summer gone!) so that actually maybe in my favour and the summer prices may be a little cheaper, but right now I'm like a kid in a sweet shop...Lots of research still to do though!

Thanks for the advice,

Mac
