Can someone please answer these questions:

Is 20k(mileage)high for 52 plate s2 111s?

At that kind of mileage is it still reliable, also what if any expensive parts would need changing soon?

Are there any major services that need doing at this point???

How much should I be looking to pay 16k 17k 19k or more????

thanks for the help folks....

Not really.

Lots of people used the S2 111S as an everyday car as opposed to a weekend thrasher.

Cambelt should be changed every 4 years or 30,000 (I think!) miles.

Just have it checked out by a specialist and make sure it has a full service history. The good part is that if its done 20,000 miles all of the niggles should have been sorted.

Buy on condition rather than mileage.

As for price I would say £16 - 17K for a private sale.

20k miles is not a problem at all - as Davey above said, buy on condition and history, rather than mileage.

Some would argue (including me) that you're better off with a 20k mile car with regular maintenance than a 1000mile garage queen that hasn't done many miles.

Good luck, test drive it, have a play, then post the pictures here when you've bought it

No problem whatsoever. I sold my 111S on a 52 plate with 33K, all driven by me. No issues at all. Car was my daily driver. Nothing is likely to go wrong at that mileage or indeed any mileage within reason.

At 20K, it will have had its initial service at 1K, first service at circa 9K, then its second 'A' service at circa 18K. So the next one should be a 'B' service at 27K. Reckon on around £350 at most franchised dealers.

Price? Assuming it is in first class order, in a private sale I'd reckon on around £18K. Add a bit if it has air-con/hard top, but haggle hard. Don't pay a premium summer price - it is very much a buyers market.

Agree with all the above, but the next service will be a B + belts which is likely to be closer to £500 depending on where you go.

Also around this time you may need to look at exhaust, shocks, pads and disks, as well as tyres coming up for renewal so have these all checked carefully before buying. If they all need doing you'll be looking at a mighty bill!

I thought the service pattern was A-A-B-A-A-C?

Shouldn't need the belts doing after only 27K. I never did mine!

It is but it's every 4 years or.... actually, I'm getting my plates in a twist maybe. What year's a 52 plate?

52 plates went from Sept 2002 until end Feb 2003.

Well it needs the belts done next year then, whatever the mileage.
