There was a post recently which was about a guy that had just purchased an Elise and was fixing it up.

He said his Dad had come round and helped him to clean it.

For the life of me, I can not find it.
Does anyone know the title of the thread please?

Thought I recognised the thread you were looking for, only read through it on Tuesday.

https://www.pistonheads.com/gassing//topic.asp?h=0...

- actually the above is _Marvins, is this the right one?:

'Lotus Elise S2 - Fast Road/Track Project': https://www.pistonheads.com/gassing//topic.asp?h=0...

It contains (in no particular order):

- MOT failure S2 in Black
- one keen father
- failed master cylinder
- Nitrons

Ahh, thank you very much, it was the post by Darryl H.
Obviously an older thread, but with some recent posts on it got it to the top.

I am seriously considering a new toy and the S2 is something I have always fancied. So these type of posts are of particular interest at the moment.

On the Toyota side I've got a couple of threads:

Elise 111R: https://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&...

Exige S: https://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&...

May or may not be of interest. Elise one reached its conclusion and Exige one is still very much in progress...

Yes, I agree.

It's great to see what others have needed to do with their cars.
I have learnt a lot recently by reading these posts.

Last night it finally clicked what the difference between a 111S and 111R with the Rover / Toyota engines
