Interesting times with the Coronavirus Pandemic allowing many people more time to ponder on upgrading and improving their Lotus.

So power isn’t everything and certainly for track use, tuition Is the best upgrade, but who has upgraded their Exige beyond the factories most powerful production car the Cup 430.

With a Komotec 490bhp available for 350’s/380’s
and 475 for the 410/430 has anyone had this or the alternative Supercharger upgrade from SSC.

Interested to hear if anyone is contemplating doing so as after a drive in a 3-11 430 upgraded to the KT EX475, the most noticeable difference was the huge torque increase giving the car McLaren like acceleration from low/mid revs and a sub 3 seconds to 60mph

Are you referring to cars with the original Toyota V6 engine or all cars with any engine type?

There are definitely earlier generation cars with VAG 4 pot turbo`s pushing out big power (700hp) and I`d imagine there will also be some seriously tuned Honda K20 lumps...c. 600hp.

If we're playing made up numbers then yes, apparently his car can make 700hp but he only runs it at 340hp laugh

Yes should have made it clearer, it was just on the Toyota V6 engine that I’m interested in.

Although i have seen a few Mk1 and 2‘s with Audi engines pushing out some serious power.

Ronan's 4 pot 2zz was over 700hp I believe
I imagine the V6 is ,like its little cousin, constrained by its gearbox

The V6 gearbox is the limiting factor I guess. KT do also have an option for a sequential box but it does seem pretty jerky for road use
