Strange question maybe, but is there a particularly good time of year to buy an Elise?

I've been checking the classifieds for a few months now and there doesn't seem to be a lot of choice. I'm wondering if this is maybe a bad time of year to be shopping and I should wait until Spring?

Prices of convertibles apparently peak in March (someone somewhere on the internet said). That might explain why more would be on sale then.

So depends what you mean by “good”. More choice but less chance of a bargain.

Always after a bargain, but i'm after the right spec too.

I'm worried i'll compromise and buy something that's maybe not the well looked after 111s I actually want, I'll then regret the decision later if/when the classifieds fill with car's I should have waited for.

Hold out for what you want and don’t give in. It will come along eventually.

Elise prices tbf are a law unto themselves. I will buy one myself in future, I just hope they don’t go up much more before I do! Currently running an MR2 mk3, the “poor man’s Elise”

Try Will B or Jon seal on Seloc, they usually have a few cars in stock.

Put a wanted up on a FB group or on SELOC. It may tempt someone thinking of waiting to sell in spring. I got my 111s S1 through a wanted on SELOC.

SELOC forum and classifieds is a good hunting ground.

The Facebook group seems to get the most coverage so as above, a wanted ad on there or Seloc would be your best bet. Good luck smile

Which FB group do you refer to? I haven't looked but I'm sure there is more than one!

I found mine at the end of last summer after looking for nearly a year. After that the choice is very limited during the winter months compared in my opinion.

I may well sell my S1 111S. Rare car and I looked for one for a long time. It’s only covered 20k and I’ve beautified it. Prices are all over the shop and I’ll want top money for it to make my desired S3 a reality. Maybe one last Elise before the music stops.
