Exige 410 options
Discussion
Hi all,
I may be in the market for a new / nearly new Exige 410 but am struggling to understand what are options, and what is standard.
Also, what are the must have options? I think they are aircon, sound proofing, cruise (odd one?), carpets - anything else?
Any other tips on colours , interior and so on?
Also, where is the value. New looks like around £80, but then there are cars less than a year old like this - https://www.pistonheads.com/classifieds/used-cars/...
Cheers!

I think if you order new now the carbon seats are optional. Possibly a couple of other bits inc inc the brakes. You'd need to ask a dealer for the gospel on this though. The earlier cars came with the seats as standard.
On the 410 there's not a huge list of things to choose other than paint and stitching. Radio is optional and you won't know if you have a Sony or Pioneer until it arrives. I've had 2 identical 410s. Consecutive chassis numbers too. They've had different radios fitted
Big money option is the carbon roof. Add to that painted accents if you wish.
I think in reality the price difference between a new car and a year old will not change much. 10k maybe given the deals available on new. The 380 has held well and the 410 and 430 are simply improved versions of that. They will always stay above 380 Cup money as a result.

Looks a good buy at that price with a decent spec. Harnesses have to be another benefit if you intend tracking it.
It’s certainly cheaper than others out there but could be a reason why, so worth researching.
Early versions were more expensive new because they came with far more Carbon, but Lotus realised it was better to sell them without and let the customer choose as an option as required.
Air con, sound insulation a must, Front PPF a good option, HVAC colour coded a nice touch and Carbon Cils worth having but need to be PPF’d. I’m sure there are others but most important is colour as everyone sees it.
Exige’s suit any colour but personally I like bright metallic colours such as Liquid Yellow, Vivid Green and Signature Orange with colour matched decals and interior stitching

I looked at new but in the end decided to save £10k and buy a lightly used one.I may be in the market for a new / nearly new Exige 410 but am struggling to understand what are options, and what is standard.

It seems most (if not all I’ve seen) have carpet, stereo, sound proofing a/c and cruise. A/c is essential for resale and I’d not be without cruise for long drives, roadworks etc - it’s a bargain for £100!
Carbon tailgate/spoiler, seats, front access panel and front splitter along with Alcon brakes, 3 way Nitron dampers, lithium battery, and baffled sump are (were) standard fit.
I’ll see if I can dig out the options list but other than those listed above it’s twin colour interior stitching, carbon hardtop, parking sensors and various body coloured bits are the only other options.
New you should get a deal around £78-80k depending on spec and used you’re looking at £66-70k.
Colour is purely personal and there doesn’t appear to be a ‘wrong’ choice.
Only thing I’ve done to mine was pull the exhaust vacuum hose (as it sounds dull with the valve closed) so it’s loud all the time and I fitted a harness bar and Schroth harnesses.
Love it to bits
Here it is, click on ‘UK price list’

If you haven’t driven one yet then make sure you do - speak to Jamie at Bell&Colville if you’re in the south east.
Stereo is dire and you can’t see the heater controls - that’s the bad bits.
Budget £1k for PPF on the front and try to get one with a 3 year service plan, er...other than that just enjoy it
Mines going to the Alps in August (6th trip in a Lotus) so I’ll be getting the soft top conversion done

There’s an orange car that looks good at Silverstone at the moment, great guys and always ready to do a deal.
I’ll take a look 👍This is one car I’m looking at - https://www.pistonheads.com/classifieds/used-cars/...
Anyone know it? It was px’d at Porsche Edinburgh I’m told.

Don’t know the car but just check to see when it had the running in service done (needs doing at 1k miles) and ask for an ECU print out. This is one car I’m looking at - https://www.pistonheads.com/classifieds/used-cars/...

Harnesses and bar are worth £700 so nice to have fitted.
If you test drive it just ask the usual questions (crash damage, chassis damage, history)and check the car’s condition. Front clam is prone to stone chips so have a good look.
Otherwise it’ll have the remainder of its 3 year warranty left so nothing else to worry about.

what's the differences etween the 410 sport and 430 cup other than the obvious 20bhp?
430 has red engine cover. 410 has black. 430 has vents over the front arches.
Both cars are built on the same 380 Cup chassis with nitron suspension and AP brakes. 430 has harder suspension settings compared to the 410. Both cars originally had carbon seats and carbon access panel and carbon engine cover as standard but I believe now the 410 has the seats as an option.
430 has a carbon roof, carbon door sills and large flat carbon rear wing. 410 has standard roof, stitched leather door sill and a shaped carbon rear wing that sits lower than the 430. 430 gets rear tow strap. 410 has no rear tow strap nor place to fit it. Carbon front splitter has a rubber guard on the 430. 410 doesn't have this guard. Both cars get forged wheels and the same rear diffuser.
A full spec 410 shouldn't cost a huge amount less than a 430 hence the decision to now make the seats an option on the 410 to bring the price down.

Titanium Exhaust and A T45 Roll Hoop Also

so you can get a harness bar without the T45 hoop in the 410? Can the 410 pass noise test at most circuits? weight loss is great with Ti exhaust but i also worry about the noise.
You can’t get the T45 hoop in a 410 from factory. An S2 Elise/Exige harness bar fits straight into a 410 though as it’s the same tub. Eliseparts one is fine.A 410 wont pass any UK noise tests so you’d need to swap the standard silencer or add some extra cans (Eddie who’s posted above has some dB reducing add ons fitted)

I fitted a 2bular QP system with additional 350mm cans and can't get below 91db. I think the supercharger is over 90db alone. Thruxton will allow me on if I'm sensible.

Very surprisingly I managed to survive at both Croft and Blyton last year with the standard exhaust ! Was expecting to be warned but it never came - although I wasn't giving it the absolute full berries. I may also have been lucky by making most noise far enough away from the drive-by meters.
430’s and 410’s can not pass any normal track day static tests. You can of course go on tracks with drivebys and as mentioned short shift past the meters. Not ideal and if you have the Titanium Exhaust ( on the 430 or optional on the 410 ) you aren’t going to want to interchange systems for a quiet back box as the Titanium sound is brilliant, but not track friendly
