Exige S2 starter button flashes

Hi all. I'm only a few days into Exile S2 ownership. It's got the later dash with the separate start button. When I collected the car, the start button was blinking every few seconds as I was driving along. I assumed at the time this was some sort of low fuel reminder and indeed after I filled it I didn't notice it blink again though must admit I was paying that much attention to it either.

Took the car out for a pre-Christmas spanking this morning and I noticed it was doing it again. Seemed to disappear once the car was up to operating temperature. I couldn't find anything in the manual about this and though I have found some info about faults with the starter button online, those describe a flickering. Mine is more of a single pulse every 10 seconds or so.
