Just wondering if people find these handy?

Talking about this sort of thing:

It's really just for making rear undertray easier to remove and then get a jack under the rear of the car.

I do have conventional steel ramps too but they're very steep and the front lip of the car will catch on ground if I take it to full height. And they're a bit big and clumsy to move around.

Input greatly appreciate

I keep looking at these as I cant get my jack under unless the car is on wood. Still undecided if to take the plunge as so many available.

Fairly cheap on ebay. My assumption is that these would just help a bit in terms of being able to get to the undertray to remove to then be able to jack properly. Hate jacking forward of the undertray, seems way too unstable.

I've got those and they are perfect for getting under trays off, adjusting dampers (if you have that type) and the anti roll bar. Easily fit in the boot too if you want to take along to any track days.

Cheers folks. I'll go for a set of them then. I did consider the caravan levelling type ones but I wasn't keen on having several steps. One smooth gradient would be the preference.

There was a chap, rochdale based I think, who makes ramps (proper ones) for lotus. I bought kine from him via Ebay, welded and 10 years on still a godsend

Very long gradual metal ramps, used them on all my cars. I wouldnt go near anything else.

I’ve used a set similar to help get a jack under the back of my Clio.

No. Normal ramps, very long and gradual, wouldn't feel happy under thos things

I was looking at those plastic 'helper' ramps to get my Evora onto my 2 post lift but thought the price was frankly ridiculous.

A length of 9" x 3" joist offcut later and a shallow angle slash cut (and much sweating using a hand saw!) and, hey presto, two perfect ramps for free.

Top DIY ing. I have used various wooden blocks etc in the past but fancied something a little more purpose made and neat. I think I paid £20 for the pair of mine delivered. Admittedly it's not as cheap as free but they store neatly and are nice and light for squeezing past the car with . Pretty happy with them.

I use these and they work perfectly for undertray removal.
Also handy when jacking the whole car up on stands, which on a elise is a right pain!

The ad says 80mm, which the car will sit just under that. It's not a great deal, but I have a splitter and wouldn't get away with anything much taller that I can reverse onto.

On my S2 exige to change the exhaust I used 3 paving flags under each rear wheel stacked in a pyramid formation got that little bit more height to make switching easier.

Yes that's them. Mine even have all the Lotus specific adapters. They are great for using simply as a ramp, or for longer jobs you can get all 4 wheels off the car and the car is at a height that gives you so much more space for crawling around underneath.

Shame to sell them but I have no garage when I move.
