Ha ha, inspired by the "S1 More BHP" thread, has anyone else given a passenger ride and been more than disappointed with the performance? My previous cars have had the same problem, but only slightly, it's sooo pronounced with the Exige.
:silly:
The only person who is light enough not to affect the car is my missus, any bloke that I have taken out in the car seems to weigh it down, causing understeer and a distinct lack of acceleration on the straights!

Although to them it still feels special, to me, I can't wait for them to get out, "It was a lot faster, honest!"

I love my car, and the engineering principles it upholds.

It's just a shame I make such a mockery of it when I sit behind the wheel.

I like to think of it as ironic, and that I'm an enigma! Find this helps

Regards, Neil

PS I'm off to get a bar of chocolate for pudding yum!

PPS Never mind the passenger who is the 'most ample' elise driver out there? I make up 12.88% of the cars total weight when seated (figures based upon official dry weight data S2 ST)

PPPS I reserve the right to withdraw this information if it becomes overwhelmingly embarrassing

I remember when I sold my Clio 182 - the two purchasers wanted me to take them for a drive before they parted with the cash... Let's just say they were a little on the large side and the 182 felt really slow... I found that keeping the gears low and revs high whilst blipping the throttle appeared to mask the performance issues - either that or they were just shocked my my lack of driving ability!

I gave a 19 stone mate a ride a few years back, the performance wasnt so much blunted as halved!

He even made the tracking seem out the way the car was pulling to the left...

The guy I sometimes car share with is a big lad and he also used to own an Elise so he knows what the performance is like. Whenever I give him a lift he's constantly going on about how slow it feels compared to his old one and how I'm obviously not driving it properly. In the end I'd had enough and said that it accelerated and handled far better without his fat arse in it!

Apologies if i'm posting in the wrong forum but ahem.....on a recent event I was fortunate enough to witness Richard McCann (EVO competition winner), lighting up his rear wheels in his Caterham Academy car, to get some heat into them before taking to the circuit. Well when I say wheels I actually mean wheel. On asking him if the car was allright, he said "fine....it's just me I'm a fat bastard!" The drivers side rear wheel wasn't spinning because of his lardiness....
