I currently have an S3 Elise which is brilliant but the luggage space is a bit limiting. Does an S3 Exige have more capacity as a result of the wider rear body?
Might be a "reasonable" excuse to upgrade..

Don`t know, but my wife and I managed a two week road trip through Italy and Germany a couple of years ago in a V6 roadster...and we found room to take the roof off! Might be more of an issue if you went to a cold climate where you needed more clothing?

The boot is bigger than it looks but massive it isn't. If you stand behind the car the boot space goes all the way to the outside wing on the right hand side so makes use of the width which is quite useful, but not on the left.

Squashy bags are the order of the day and you can get a couple in with room to cram some other stuff around it. One thing, it does get warm in the boot from the engine.

Do what I do with my Countach .... use black plastic bin liners .... they squash up well within uneven cramped spaces .... and cause quite a stir when the tramp tries to check in for his overnight stay.

Haven't owned an Exige V6, but my impression was that there was more space behind the seats than the Elise. Useful for short-arses like me.

I'm not sure there is, nether seats recline, they have a fixed back angle and the passenger seat is fixed so you cannot move it forwards or backwards making access behind it really difficult. Behind the driver's seat you can just about fit a small to medium sized laptop bag but as others have suggested the rear boot is wider than you first think providing you stick with squashy bags.

But this is also true of the Elise the OP already has. He's asking how the Exige compares to the Elise.

One other thing, if you have a roadster then you can get the roof behind the seats in the cabin so that it doesn’t take any boot space.

There is also a bit of space in the passenger footwell behind the metal foot rest.

But to the point, I haven’t seen the boot of an Elise so can’t add anything about a comparison.

If the OP posted some pics of stuff in his boot I would do the same in the exige and thus allow a comparison.

Bit tricky to photo the boot contents as most are hidden in the rear flanks. I guess the Exige is the same but perhaps with wider flanks and therefore more space? Not tried getting the roof behind the seats, not sure it would. I get the car back next weekend so will do a bit of experimenting.

It's a squeeze but it does just about fit, at least in my S2. You have to move the drivers seat all the way forwards to get it in and out, though.

Lol, that's not a problem as I'm a dwarf! Did you put it in horizontally or vertically (and was it in the bag?).

Horizontally, no bag.

My soft top isn't lined, mind. It was once, but the lining fell off. hehe

For the S3, a standard roadster lined roof definitely fits behind the seats. Mine was there today as we have gone away for the weekend.

Well I'll try putting the roof behind the seats, might have found my luggage solution right there.

To avoid confusion, I have a S3 Exige.
