What's the deal with this car? Swear it's been for sale since around 2010! It's obviously got a quite awful gull wing roof conversion, but surely a deal would have been done eventually?!

At £20k for an S1 it has to hit specific criteria- be low miles, be original, have provenance. If I were selling that I’d put it back to standard. Wheel, gear shift surround and knob. Sell the hard top separately.

It's certainly been a long time. I'm looking for an Elise at the moment and I can't quite put my finger on what puts me off that one.

For me if a car has been on sale for ages I start to wonder if there's something wrong with it.

Stu- tried emailing you but apparently your profile doesn’t accept emails. I have two S1’s at present and one has to go. A 111S with 19k and an early S1 on MMC with 23k. Email me if of interest.

Seems to be a bit of a bitsa; VVC engine, 160 spoiler, standard wheels, not sure if a 135 steering wheel too.

Not worth £20k.

My point was more why has the dealer hung on to it for so long? It's clearly not selling. They're playing the long game for some mug to come along!

Have you ever met Barry? You'd understand why he holds onto them so long. He's always right, and an interesting character. smile I did pop along to see another car there a few years ago and it was there covered in dust in his shed/showroom. I believe it was converted for a chap that was larger and not that mobile if I remember rightly and Barry is selling if for him due to ill health. Maybe the seller has other things on his mind or may have even passed I do not know. One thing I do remember is it was not up for that! Much lower so maybe he's raising the price in the reflection of prices going up. But I have to say it's a bit steep compared with what you can get. Can't imagine it's been started for a while. It was buried at the back of about 15 odd Elise\Elan\Exiges.

I actually quite like that roof, a simple solution to the getting in/out issue you have with the hard top/

5k - 6k overpriced.

Some Elises at silly money at the moment, they just don’t sell simple.

Nice car if it was standard.
