Chippings (my local :shoot: council calls it road dressing) on the roads – WHY!, within days most have them have disappeared and then my expensive paintwork looks like its been shot blasted. I suppose it gives extra grip but why don’t the council use some of that money they get from speed cameras to pay for a proper surface.

I feel for you mate - that must put a crushing blow to the ownership.

You should ask them for the costs of fixing it!
They haven't started stone chipping round here yet, but the state the A4 is in now it will just be a matter of weeks

A similar thing happened round my parents when 18 speed bumps were installed on a quater mile strectch of road - a lot of people requested (politly in public) that the council who authorised the installation reembursed the cost of new suspension, tyres and wheel arch liners.

A few people even got some money, a few tried to go through the courts, and I think one of them won. The rest were settled, and the humps have either been removed or altered so it's possible to get over them at 30 in a sports car.

Hi

Myself and Boggy are having the same problem at the mo, they are resurfacing the roads on the whole of our estate and the front of our car is looking shot blasted as well! It is a pain in the ar*e!!!! We've got an S2 54 Elise 111R and is upsetting seeing what the council are putting us through, we wind up the neighbours and drive as slow as possible through the estate, what with the speed humps as well!!

Hit the horn everytime you go over a speedhump, they'll soon complain

Mad rush, need to get there quick, travel up the ar*e of the guy in front - no need - lift off the pedal on the right when the surface gets crumbly - if there's no one there to fire the buggers at you your nose wont get chipped!

...and relax.
