Finally collected the Elise - been rained on ever since! Really happy with the car - stereo confusing me totally! Just got to run it in - everything appears to be spot on so far... Will post some more findings as I cover more miles...

Lovely looking car. I love the Ardent Red with the black wheels

Looks fantastic. I really think that the S2 looks the best in Ardent Red. The black wheels aren't something I personally like, but nevertheless still a great looking piece of kit.

Get you 1000 miles done quickly so you can enjoy the power

good choice mate, looks the dogs. just run her in gently, and then after the 1st service you can show her who's the boss.

Cheers guys... I've had her up to 4.7ishK RPM and have been making fairly rapid progress to be honest - when you blip the throttle hard! What the heck is it going to be like +6K RPM!? I have a trip from Dereham in Norfolk (home) to Scarborough on Tuesday - bet it's going to rain!

Looks great. You will love it, and the weather can only improve!

How did you manage to get black wheels? I was told this is no longer an option.

I requested them when I ordered and the dealer sorted it for no extra charge... I guess as the work is not factory provided, it's up to each dealer...

Lovely mate - enjoy, take it easy for a while while you break it in and get used to it. Fingers crossed you'll have a lovely sunny drive home!

Congratulations. Very nice combo.
Let us know about the running in.
What told you the dealer regarding RPM before 1.5 k miles?
Forget the stereo you got the engine. BTW what about the blaring note usually described with standard exhaust?
Can I post the other 36 questions I have in mind?
Do you plan to "film" protect the front clam???
OK need to work again...

The dealer basically said take it to 4.5K before 600miles and then a gradual increase to 6K before the first service then... all the way! The blaring note may become more apparent under hard acceleration but actually at low revs it sounds quite deep and, if you take it easy, it's quite quiet! I still want the stage 1 exhaust at some point and as for paint protection, I've run out of cash! I have to say, this is one heck of a car - superb! The red looks the business in sun light as well...

Nice car mate!!

I was amazed at the acceleration below 6k rpm (for all you 'yota doubters), but all hell breaks loose above it!

Nice black wheels too...

Cheers - I'm not exactly flooring the throttle yet because the RPM climbs swiftly anyway - I guess I should take care until the 1st service... It's amazing the amount of hot hatches that start to accelerate once they've spotted you in their mirror - strange thing is, I make such rapid progress with only a bit of acceleration because I don't need to slow for the corners plus the gear changes up through to 6th are FAST!

Definitely take care during running in, as they will print out how (% time in each rev band etc.) you have treated the engine, for any future warranty claims.

I'm the same, it takes a few miles in the morning to warm the oil up, and I have all manner of chavs coming past me, "thinking" they have beaten an Exige at (ahem) full throttle, ha ha ha.. I laugh in their general direction!

Just a little quick note, be careful in high gear's at low rev's round corner's I lost traction on My R when I hadn't even run it in.

Oh and low gears with high revs, I lost traction in a straight line on the cam change.

So mid gears and mid revs it is then...

Trip to Scarborough cancelled so, with 100 miles on the clock, it's going to take a bit of time until that 1st service...
