Interesting that - I thought about ordering my 111R in chrome orange but the dealer talked me out of it (Strattons) saying I'd never be able to sell it on... I went for red in the end (would have had to wait longer for another colour) but think the Elise / Exige really suits the bolder colours...

I agree..... a puppy is for christmas.... an Elise is for life!

I rather like them in silver THANKYOU LOL

They look good in any colour in my opinion, although I prefer ones that show off their lines a little more... too dark/flat colours disguise the lines... ESPECIALLY on the S2s.

Malts,

I quite agree, Chrome orange is the way to go on the S1. Looked high and low for a chrome orange S1 111s. They are out there!

I also love the Krypton / Scandal Green, never seen it on an S1 though - must be very rare!

I think if I ever got an S2 Exige, I'd deffo go for Krypton green, think it looks awsome.

I also think you'd always shift any Elise in the brighter colours, there are plenty of buyers out there that love them. One could also argue that they are more likely to sell second hand because there are fewer of them and the demand higher?

Been no help I know, sorry, but do keep looking!

Dealers discouraging people from getting the car they want? If any dealers are reading this and have ever done this will you please stop this self defeating stupidity please? Tell you what, it's much better to sell all the cars in silver, this way they will look just like a BMW. Having your cars sell in bright colours makes them noticable, and this in turn gives a brand exposure at no cost to the brand or the dealers. Makes sense to me.

Anyway, Chrome Orange is the way to go on any Elise or Exige in my view.

Regards,

Chrome Orange

I think the S1 was only available in scandal green on the 111s. Could be wrong though.

Yeah the kripton green looks awsome on the S2 exige in Evo, but did anyone ever see the 'Harrods' S2 Elise in their green with the pimp sylie gold alacantara interior? Now that was nasty!

Have a look in current issue of Top Marques (Issue 274), page 60. There's a Scandal Green Sport 160, 2000 W Reg with 27,000 miles. Doesn't have a price in ad, and is in Falkirk but must be worth a trip to papershop at lunch time!!

I saw the 'Arrods S2 at the factory, looked like a military issue Elise to me!

Hi all,

Agree Agree Agree

Simple answer here I'm afraid, if any dealer attempted to talk me out of a Colour I'd go else where, that is Madness. A Lotus is a Sport's car for god's sake not a rep mobile

Does make me laugh

Hi All,

I've got a Chrome Orange S1 111s. I must say I've never seen another one on the road. I think the colour is great (it's the first thing most people comment on) but the wife thought I was bonkers when I first brought it home!

If I had a S1 I would have had it in either Orange, Yellow or Lime green

I wanted Yellow when I brought my 111R but Mrs boggy talked me out of it, next Elise Yellow or Krypton Green for sure

I saw the Harrods Elise for sale about 6 months ago when I was looking to buy. It is nastiest colour I have ever seen on a car! Car only had a few miles on it but was really cheap because of the colour. Anyone know if it was ever sold? or resprayed and sold?

Although 'Arrods car was shockingly nasty, I think it'd be a shame if it was re-sprayed.

These special editions are cars that remind people of a specific time in their life. I remember seeing it at the factory when I'd just finished my apprenticeship there, and it'll always remind me of that time. So I think it should be left as is...... not saying I'd buy it though

The harrods elise was on ebay recently for offers over £49k!

Surprisingly it didn't sell.
