Well chaps, its that time of the year when my S1 needs serviced(and timing belt changed) again.

As no doubt, many of the scottish elise owners know, the choice of venues for servicing is shocking in scotland and i cant afford the two hour drive to Newcstle this time. My previous experience with servicing isn't particularly great and if at all possible, i would take my car somewhere else. Living in edinburgh proximity is important.

Has anyone in the area ever taken their car elsewhere, and not to company X for servicing? Or perhaps the consensus will be that i should grit my teeth and line their bank account even more?

If you take the drive down to Newcastle I can save your more than the cost of the trip.

Drop me a mail to dan@judeperformance.co.uk

Its not really the cash that i was worried about, it was the time. Dont fancy the idea of hanging around for ages.

A friend purchased a new 111R from the aformentioned "company x" in January. He mentioned he took it back a couple of times due to unexplained noices from under the dash. Never got sorted apparently - im sure you will hear worse stories : )

Not heard anything from him about servicing yet but will post if he makes noises about it. They do seem to be expensive compared to dealers down south.

There is a group in www.groups.yahoo.com named "scottish elises"

http://autos.groups.yahoo.com/group/Scottish_Elises/

(they are a most helpful bunch), you will find some advice there. They directed me to a specialist in Arbroath so i can avoid "company x" when eventually i need to.

Im pretty interested to hear any stories from dealers/specialist in scotland. Was considering a purchase + servicing from Newcastle - they seem to have a good rep.

Hope this helps.

Why not make a day of it. You could go shopping at the Metrocentre and spend even more money!

Hi Kevin

I would seriously recommend speaking to Dan @ Jude Performance Services, in a nutshell, Top Banana!

I have had 2 lots of work completed by them in the past 6 weeks and all I have to say is that these guys know the script and will save you a great deal of cash in the process. I know that you said that it’s the hanging around that you don't fancy but to be honest there are so many things to do in and around Newcastle you could kill three hours before you know it.

I don't know what "company x" are charging for the work you require but I know for sure that Jude Performance Services will be far cheaper and will do the job thoroughly.

Make a day of it and pop down here.

Dreadnought in Callander. By far the best garage I've ever dealt with.
