Since Friday when I nearly stalled at some traffic lights and ended up pulling away at 3k revs and lighting up the rear tyres by mistake, once warm the throttle keeps sticking at 2.5 - 3k revs randomly so when you dip the clutch the revs rise to 3k. I'm hoping its the cable as soon as you blip the throttle it returns to normal.

Has anyone else had this before and is it the cable or something else as it didnt do this before the traffic light incident?

If you still have the plastic throttle body that could be the problem as they do stick. Replacing with an ally one should help out. IIRC the std size is 48mm or you can get the Trophy 160 one which is 52mm.

I had this problem recently. Turned out to be a corroded cable. Also, you could check the pedal mechanism in the footwell.

Had exactly that about 2 weeks ago - throttle sticking and only sorted by a firm dab on the pedal.

After a bit of investigating it turned out to be the pedal sticking. A few well aimed squirts of WD 40 onto the pivots and joints of the pedal sorted it all out without any drama (or cost).

Get your head down in the footwell and have a fiddle and a squirt before doing anything costly like cables or throttle body is my advice.
