Was thinking how nice it would be to have a stone chip free car that looks brand spanking new the other day...

Anybody any idea how much a complete respray for an S2 would cost? (shed loads presumably)

How would the quality compare to the original?

I looked into this a little while ago but didnt get a precise cost. Was told if you're changing colour it'll cost so much its cheaper selling and buying another car in the colour you want. If you're keeping the same colour it'll be more affordable but wont be chaep.

if you want the chips sorting out and t the same colour then prob £1000-1500 ...if you want a complete colour change then double that

I would look at paying upto 2000 pounds.

Good luck.

never go for a colour change it only gives problems later on, never looks right when opening bonnet or boot or doors the edges allway peel up . The only way is to strip out all the windows and lights and every bit of trim attached to the bodywork then paint it thats why it cost so much

My advice is to take the car to Specialised paintwork for them to look at it.

My bet is that you donot need a full respray.

Front Clam plus touchup of the bad bits will be a lot less than 2k

I spoke to Miles at Fibreglass Services about the cost of a full respray and he quoted me £3000.

But he will do a top, top quality job.

To be honest I don't think it's something you can cheap out on if you want a FULL respray. To clean up front clam etc. you're looking around the £600 mark I think. Other areas should be possible to blend by a good paintshop. As noted above, doubtful a full respray would be worth doing unless you've money to throw away.

Recently has a quote of £350 to respray fron tnose spoiler and badge panel on my 944, fill in the chip son the other panels, and machine polish the whole thing. Bloke jsut starting out, needs the business, but does good work.
