Any advice on repairing the captive nuts in the engine cover of an S1 Elise? I now only have one hanging on. My first thought would be helicoil, but would appreciate any advice.
Mine weren't totally stripped, but I could feel the treads were about to go. I replaced them with studs which I bonded in (sorry - I forget what adhesive I used). I then secured the hinge with wing nuts which means I can very quickly remove the lid completely.
