This may win the prize for the longest suspension refresh in history. I started on my Exige nearly 2 years ago with what was supposed to be a quick suspension refresh. It's amazing how life gets in the way of getting things finished.

I think it was a combination of finding time and freeing up funds to do some upgrades.

In the end I took both the front and back clam off. Replaced the radiator, a number of brake pipes, put a new clutch in, took all the suspension apart, shot blasted the wishbones (plus hub carries, etc) replaced all the bushes, new ARB new drop-links new track rod ends new wheel bearings, new disks and pads etc, upgraded Nitron shocks and about a dozen other little jobs that needed doing.

The car has been "finished" for about 8 months and sat in dry storage. I sort of got used to not having it. Anyway, after being asked about a thousand times over the last year how my car is getting on, it's now booked in for it's MOT tomorrow (as well as geometry, service and general check over). Fingers crossed I'll be driving it in the sun by Wednesday:

I took it out of the garage to wash the dust off it:

The plan is to run it over the summer and then take it off the road (again) to get it resprayed during the winter.

3 years has me beaten.

What's the delay (says me!)?

I'd planned to do my own suspension refresh on the Elise - but I just know this would have happened to me, and it'd still be in bits in the garage now! So I just got Dan @ HPE to do it for me, back on the road in a few weeks, although without the satisfaction of DIY I guess wink

You also have the benefit that it's probably appreciated in value in those 2 years, unlike every other car! Looks good in silver.

Thanks, It turned into a bit of a mill-stone at times to be honest. Especially when I only had a few hours on a Saturday afternoon and would spend it grinding/drilling off a rusted bolt.

Anywat it passed it's MOT yesterday and I drove it into work this morning, for the first time in 2.5 years. It went very well in the sun over the Cat and Fiddle. It's like having a new car.
