Hi Gents,

I purchased an Exige V6s very recently and overall I am loving the car.

However, i went out yesterday and the car felt slower than it did originally. I took the car out again today and again the car didn't feel as silly quick as it did over the weekend and I noticed some noise coming from the engine bay that I hadn't heard originally. There seems to be some non-supercharger whistling and some supercharger rattle.

When I got home I opened the engine cover to have a look and the supercharger sounds like a bag of spanners at idle. Can anyone report whether this is normal or not?

Car is still in Warranty and is due to go back to Silverstone in a couple of weeks for some work that couldn't be completed prior to sale. There are no fault codes on the dash to speak of.

Grateful for any help you can give.

Thanks

Sounds pretty normal to me.
Mine always had a rattle - yours may be a tad louder, but worth getting Silverstone to check it out.

hm, I would be scared of with such noise making SC, does not sound normal to me, not that I own a Lotus,
but that would be way to noisy for my liking.

Doesn't sound right to me, Silverstone are very professional, I've got nothing but praise for them, if there is an issue they will sort it.

Drop it into Jeremy at Back on Track for an opinion, he's in Guildford. Lotus specialist.

My Evora supercharger had to be replaced after it started to rattle (sounded like it was full of small stones).

Thankfully replaced by Lotus under warranty.

Did you buy the yellow roadster from Silverstone?

Hi Guys,

Had car checked at Bell & Colvill - all is fine apparently, just me being paranoid!

No to the poster above, not the yellow roadster.

Many thanks for help and suggestions.

and the slower feeling of the car you mentioned?

anyhow, it makes a horrible noise that way close, but I guess you won't hear that in the cabin?

maybe some fellow owner can also make a short clip if theirs is more silent or just as noisy :-)
