Elise R alarm woes

I'm sure this'll feel like Groundhog Day to most of you but I'm having a nightmare with the alarm on my new (to me) R.
The alarm sounds as soon as I like it via the remote. Before the car had a broken driver-side door switch so the interior light wasn't working but I replaced that today. The first time I locked it via the remote after fitting the new switch it seemed to work fine but I then took it for a drive, came home, put it back in garage and tried to remote-lock and it sounded immediately again.
The car also has the immobiliser bypass if that makes any difference.
Any ideas? Checking the LED/shift light it is a single pulse which suggests door or latch interference but they all seem to work fine and the interior light is switched all the way down so it activates when I open the doors.
It could be related to the immobiliser bypass but that's a bit of a pig to get to so want to rule out other things first.
