MOT due on Thurs
Discussion
Haven't posted for a good while now, so a quick update....
My 111s is due an MOT this Thurs, so I've been frantically checking stuff and re-fitting the CAT in preparation. BTW, my car sounds v.quiet with the CAT fitted
, but the through pipe will be back on within a week or so - happy days...brmm brmm. So if you've not removed you CAT yet, then do it, it makes your car sound smashing!
Since my last post I've fitted some braided hoses and a set of Green Stuff pads. The car definitely stops better now and the feel through the pedal is much improved. This is an easy upgrade and just about anyone who can wield a spanner can do it, as long as you are ok with bleeding the brakes. A cheap performance upgrade that makes a real difference.
I think its about time I got this puppy on the track, its been a busy few months and I'm yearning for some track action now. I've had the 111s since November and I've not looked back yet, its been great. Highly recommended!!
In the main the Winter has been kind in N.Wales and I've had some real fun afternoons in the car, a few stupid grin moments
. I've got a great 1.5 hr run with no speed cameras and plenty of twisties (not that I'd break the law anyway).
Anyway, wish me luck with the MOT, I'm confident that she'll sail through and hope to see a few of you buzzing around Wales in the near future.
Anyone been to Anglesey for a track day? If so, let me know how you got on, any suggestions of a good organiser would also be appreciated and a general consensus on track day insurance would be useful.

S WORKS:
Its was pretty easy to change on my S1 (I can't speak for the S2). It took me around 3 hrs to complete, you just need to remove the rear part of the under tray (not the whole lot like I did) and undo 6 bolts and slide the CAT out. You don't need to jack the car up, although it may save you some time. The bolts can be a bit of a b'stard to get to and you'll need some deeper than usual sockets depending on how long the bolts are and a slim ratchet. An air wrench would be best as they are quite narrow and require zero effort. To be honest getting top 2 out of the six bolts took most of the time and the bolts on my car were in good shape. I will be refitting the CRP once the MOT is done.
As for motorway noise, it will droan at 70 MPH and can get a bit tendious after an hour or so, but I'm lucky enough to have 2 cars (a crap mondeo) so its not a problem for me. Anyway, the car seems to rev more freely and it sounds great with CRP, so its well worth doing IMHO. Yes, its like a real race car and it will make you beam from ear to ear.
XXPLOD:
Sorry to hear about the delay, but I've been there myself and understand the situation. Just pop the handbrake on with regard to nippers if I were you, well at least until the new Elise is safely tucked up in the garage
. In a few years I may consider the 111r myself - got another nipper to get out of the way first... anyway I'm a happy man and the 111s is a better car than I am a driver, so it'll take a few years before I grow out of it - in the meantime I continue to smile like a cheshire cat everytime I fetch her out of the garage. One of my best purchases of all time!

As I feared. Oh well, won't bother with that one - it's fun enough with the B&C can and Hurricane. Thanks for the info tho and best of luck for the MOT!
