Advans are better in the dry, but dont last as long, and cost nearly 2x as much..money no object then Advans

Doug,

This one still rumbles on but I think I can summarise.

Advans are probably the best tyre for a road going Liz. Designed specifically for the car and I expect would be hard to beat as an all rounder. Buy these if you don't mind the price.

Toyos are much cheaper - £240 from Camskill, delivered to your place of work (or a fitter!)

Had T1-Rs fitted to my S1 111s a month ago. For the price these are hard to beat. Some posts suggest they are a bit "floaty". I have not experienced this but mine were fitted to 111s wheels. Fantastic grip in the wet, inspire loads of confidence. Supposed to go off on the track, but I didn't buy mine for this reason.

I have now got used to the feel of these tyres and am very impressed.

Hope it helps

agreed - I run Toyos myself. For road use I doubt youd notice the difference...

Toyo T1-R's also quite different beast from the previous T-1S.

So far (have had 'em both on my car) the new T1-R seems a lot more 'solid' than the older T1-S, which were always a little soft on the sidewalls.

Alternative option for similar money on the S1 (not available in S2 sizes yet) are the BF-Goodridge G-Force Profiler tyres (do not confusw with the 'Profiler-G'.. Those are garbage). Seem to be getting good reviews.

Bye, Arno.

Got these on mine Was put off the Toyos by stories of them needing 1000 miles or so to bed in properly.

Doug,

Works a treat mate.

It did fail it's MOT this time round on the Lambda reading - faulty sensor and nothing to do with your CAT!

Fitting a Lambda sensor is a right royal PITA by the way!

CRP back in place and CAT is all nicely wrapped up until next year!

Cheers mate
