I have just purchased a Type 79 S1 Elise WooHoo:0)
Which requires the front clam to be repaired / replaced, some dash trim as it is tatty, and the seats are plain black when I thought they came with some stitching on, and the exhaust is on its way out BooHoo :0(

If anyone can help me source these parts and where I can get a copy of the workshop and or parts manual I would be very grateful if you could contact me.

Type 79 should come with the following spec:

- Black paint
- Gold inserts in the air intakes
- Gold mesh on front air intake, bonnet rad vents, engine compartment cover vents, and on rear valance beneath exhaust exit.
- Gold 111s spec wheels
- Black/Gold nosebadge
- Gold "LOTUS" and "Elise" script on rear
- Yellow/Gold (depending on your interpretation of the colour!) dash inserts
- Yellow/Gold & Black alcantara trimmed steering wheel
- Black leather 111s spec seats with Yellow/Gold alcantara inserts
- 111s Headlamp covers

For full details see the model history on the Lotus website: www.grouplotus.com/media/car/doc/Elise%20model%20history.pdf

S Works. Sorry fo rbeing dumb but why can't I see your pictures? Thanks for the help.

The two ads were the same car and yes it was an excellent buy. The bodywork is rough on th efront clam as the gelcoat is cracking from a poor previous repair.

I have the car booked in at Chris Foulds on Tuesday for a full C service inc cam belt & tensioner as well as an MOT. Keep you rfingers crossed for me that he doesn't find any other nasties.

Hi Trevor - I have the pics up on webshots and for some reason they keep coming and going. Will swap them for some from fotango and see if they are better.

Best of luck with the C and the MOT - always an arse-twitcher!

Bought my Tit S1 in 99 went for its first service in Swindon in Jan 2000 and they had a 79.

It looked good then, now seeing your car they still look good now.

Q Lucky man the Verve.

Thank so much for that. Having seen yours reminds what makes this model special. A trip to the Lotus trim shop is a must! Unless you want to swap your interior for my plain shagged black leather one lol.

I will post pics of the car to show what i am up against. The black & gold exterior is still the nuts though :0)

Nice one Paul . What suspension/ride height are you running? Looks really nice. I want to get mine lower and am considering options right now.

Good stuff - are you SURE yours is a bona fide 79 Trevor or are you making it a lookalike? I can't understand why anyone would remove all the special ed. trim and take it back to black for any reason on a 5yr old car!?

LSS with 100 front and 110 at rear.
I did have it 90 / 95 but kept scooping up all sorts.....
If you are in any doubt, can you speak to Lotus to find out if it was an original Type 79?

Looks great mate - is the very ride harsh compared to std set-up?

I imagine a quick call with the VIN to hand will get you a yes/no answer from Lotus.
