Hi everyone, my Elise will be stored in the garage until April this year. In the meanwhile I would like to install back the cat (decat currently fitted).
Now I'm a DIY beginner with very little mechanical experience but would like to try to do this job myself.
My idea is to use some plastic ramps to lift the rear of the car, remove the under tray and install the cat.
Do you think is best to drive over the ramps or lift the car each side with a trolley jack and put the ramps under the rear wheels? Also in the case I'll be lifting the car with a jack will I need to apply the handbrake and choke the front wheels?
Any other suggestion would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

I replaced my cat bolts, nuts, spring washers and gaskets last autumn as I had use of a commercial garage and hydraulic ramps which made it not a bad job.

Personally I wouldnt like to do it with the car on fixed floor ramps. The bolts are quite likely to be ceased and require heat to loosen. Probably a bicensoredch of a job lay on your back in a confined space.

I use full height steel ramps on the rear of my car. Take care reversing, but otherwise very easy. Lot's of space to change the cat parts then.

The low level plastic ramps won't be enough in my opinion.
