Elise S1 Alarm

Hi, question about the alarm in my Elise s1- standard fit cobra.

I starting taking out the centre console to tidy it up as its been painted badly as this had begun to flake off. I've removed the front section then started on the rear. For some reason whilst doing this a loud high pitched tone has started from the rear if thr cabin. I did fiddle with the interior light around the same time not sure if that has anything to do with it. Anyhow the noise is constant and have disconnected the battery. If I reconnect it beeps a few times then goes back to the constant tone. The car is dead when you turn the key bar 3 lights on the dash and also the remote seems to do nothing. I've repositioned the sensor box in case it was that but no difference.

Any help appreciated as not sure where to start!

Hi. I’ve had similar symptoms before - they were battery charge related. Try charging it.

Thanks - the car lives on a trickle charger but it is an old battery. Going to swap the battery and see if that sorts the issue.
