Hey there,

Just picked up my 2001 S2 at the weekend. Fantastic! But theres a couple of niggling annoyances on it. One of them being everytime I go round a bend with a bit of speed (That'll be most bends then!), something that sounds like small loose nuts or something slide from one side of the dash to the other! Sounds like it's coming from behind the dash but I'm not sure.

Anyone else had this problem? Anyone know how to get to fix it? Tried taking the stereo out to see if I could get access but not much luck!

Cheers

A similar sort of thing drove me mad recently; until I thoroughly investigated and realised that my missus had 'dropped' some nuts and a CD case under 'her' seat. Anything goes under yer seat, and it's a bugger to get them back out again. But I'd check under there if I were you!

Hi,

A friend bought a 111R back in January. It sounds like he has the same problem with loose nuts behind the dash. When he took it back to the dealer in edinburgh they could fix / find the problem.

I guess its a common one.

Cheers
Scott.

Cheers for that. I'm gonna call the Local Lotus place where I got it from later. Got a warranty with it so I'll let them sort it. Along with a couple of other small issues!

Get a sports can and an induction kit, take the roof off and back window out and then go for a good hard rag... you really won't give a toss about the sound behind the dash, you'll be laughing too much about the one just over your left shoulder

Already have the induction kit and sports exhaust! And, you're right, when the roofs off you can hear bugger all but the howl of the induction and the sound of the police sirens following!*

Did manage to get the rattling fixed though. Turned out to be a big bit of the stereo cage that had snapped off.

*police sirens bit made up.
