New to this site was looking for info on an elise before buying, very informative. Just got the car last week. Great motor, bit sick runnning it in though max 4000rpm for a 1000 miles!

Problem with some pipes knocking on the chassis, spoling it a bit but dealer going to check it next week (F1 newcastle).

Break squeling as well but dealer reckons noise should dissapear soon..

I'll llok out for any owners in the north east, especially as sun satrting to come out now!

Cheers

Hello

I wouldnt worry about the squeaky pads they should settle down once you have done a few hundred miles and they have been properly bedded in.

Cheers, spoils the image a bit after receiving all those admiring glances, then "sqeeeel" when puling up at the lights.

Anyone fitted a road angel, hard wired, to an S2?
Does it vibrate?

I had an origin b2 fitted. The install is very neat and the unit is brilliant. It has never let me down. The laser detector is also very useful.

Welcome sja. What colour did you go for? I'll keep an eye out for you since I'm in North East as well, usually around Gateshead/Newcastle.

Had my car at F1 in Newcastle a few weeks ago for a service and cant fault the guys there. I'm sure they'll sort it for you.

I'm also from the North East and will be happy to help if the modifying bug grabs ya!

Dan

p.s. Think we should arrange a meet sometime as there are quite a few of us around.

Usual drive in mornings to wrk is through gateshead / newcastle, but don't get me started on the current Newcastle traffic problems!

Good idea Dan! When theres a sunny weekend, a trip through the winding roads of Northumberland maybe? Meet at a country pub somewhere? Didnt think there were that many Lotus owners on here from the North East.

The running in is a pain but all the more fun when you get the first service and when its ready the mechanic says its all yours, eight grand here i come its like a new car all over again. I have a 111s April 05 but from the Northwest and looking for a local meet, hope there is as much interest over this side of the country. enjoy

I plugged Road Angel into ciggy lighter, but ran wire under dvr seat, then right to dvr sill cover, and then tucked it up inside cover. Then took off r/h speaker panel and fed wire up to dash/winscreen joint area, then along bottom edge of windscreen to unit fitted on the sucker type bracket which it fitted as low down the screen as poossible, directly behind clocks and in direct line of sight. No probs with vibration, just the annoying beep set at a max speed of 86mph. might have to adjust that setting!!!

All you north-easteners, sja, BigAndy69, djroadboy, get yourselves along to some of the NE PistonHeads meetings and events. There's a regular monthly meet at Shafto's pub at Whitworth Hall Hotel, I think the next one is Monday 25th April.

There are also runs planned all summer, the next is to the Butter Tubbs pass Sunday 1st May, and another with the North Yorkshire mob 15th May.

A NEPH trackday at Croft is also provisionally planned for 18th September.

All these events are well attended, but unfortunately there are far too many naffing TVRs Some more Lotuses would even the balance a little! I'm the only one who regularly turns up in an Elise, and I'm lonely
