Decat exhaust and mapping (injecting fuel on overrun) I would guess.

I was behind an Elise S1 with some tweaks on a run last year, it had Jenvey ITB's and a de-cat. It spat flames quite a bit and loud bangs! Quite a sight when going through darker tree lined parts of the route.

The linked video does say what the mods are to the S1, but I would say the de-cat and Titans are the main factor for flames and pops.

Thanks for the answers. Can a mapped get the pops and bangs on the standard Ecu or does it need to be aftermarket? Also who do people use for mapping round the cambridge area? In a 111R what Bhp can I expect with induction kit and decat exhaust and a remap?

Thanks
Rob

I'm not too sure that you can map pops and bangs into a 111r, they pop as a by-product of their state of tune. They are not like a modern audi / merc / focus RS etc that have mapped farts on an up-shift.

Back on Track did some work on remapping 111r's but this map just be to iron out blips in the original map and get the cam change to a lower rpm. The 111r is already a good power output for a 1.8 as it is, don't think there are many horses left in there whilst naturally aspirated.

111r owners may have more info on this, the above is what I found out when thinking what Elise to buy myself.

I thought you could map pops and bangs in to any car as I thought it was unburny fuel in the exhaust igniting on the over run?
