I've recently bought an S1 Elise (118bhp) and will be taking it down to the FOS (350 miles). Just wondering what sort of range to a tank I can expect on a steady(ish) motorway run? The fuel gauge seems a bit erratic so thought it would be good to have an idea of how often I'll need to fill up (roughly).

Also, how many miles can you expect to when re-fuel appears?

Cheers

Ive done 120K miles in my S1 Elises, and in my experience, 350 miles per tank is an average range..... and when it says refill. best do so pronto!

Must be driving like Ms Daisy to get 350 miles out of 37Ltr tank.

Can't be much fun.

That would be a 44mpg average - in my car over 19k miles my average is 37, peak 44 and minimum 31 (trackday).

275 is sensible limit before refuelling I think!

Don't rely on the gauge until close to zero, my car has had a new tank, an indicated 10 litres now means empty!

As others have said, you can't really run it to empty as when it says Refill you want to stop ASAP. I normally start looking once its down to about 15.

Managed 48mpg once on a motorway run and filled up when it came up Refill, and that was on JUST under 350 miles.

Refill means fumes, or 10 litres, you can never quite be sure. laugh
