Having sold my Porsche and tired of the dealer unable to allocate me a GT spot (previous 3 cars GTs - all ran/tracked etc) I am looking around at options, concidering 211 although investigating the overheating issue when pushed hard on track, not many for sale but this one appears to have been for sale for ever. Anybody have info, feel free to PM if needed.

What overheating issue?

That car was discussed recently on here or Seloc. Nothing particular about it afaik except it's priced quite high. It's been tracked hard but as long as well maintained that's not an issue.

Sorry overheating is not the correct term, more about heat soak into the intake system that results in a significant power drop when on track. Unlikely to affect in road mode. I don't care if its been tracked, at least then it should be kind of sorted.

It would need chargecooling to get past that issue. I used mine extensively on track and you could notice a drop off especially when ambient temps were high, but not sufficient to spoil your day. It hits a wall anyway top speed wise due to the lack of aerodynamics...

Don't get hung up about heat soak. The S2 Exige also suffer to an extent, as does any car with an intercooler sitting on top of the engine.
I did a hot evening at Brands a couple of weeks ago, the car was still awesome at the end of the evening smile

Apart from a shockingly bad advert, not sure what is not to like here, provided it's in decent condition, I reckon these must have potential investment upside too.

I've tracked my SC Exige (no charge cooler, although thats changing as I'm having a built engine installed as we speak) pretty hard at time attacks in warm weather climates (Spain and Italy), and have never really found heat soak to be an issue unless you're sat idling in the pits for a long time. That said, I tend to push hard for 5-8 laps, do a couple of cool down laps and then either press on again or pit to check my times, so you might find it might be a problem if you run 20 lap stints (the real issue then would be a general engine bay temperature one, which can be solved by drilling a couple of 4" holes in the boot bulkhead which are then vented out). Personally I'm happier running shorter, harder stints as thats where you clock the best times.

Bear in mind that there is a lot of bro-science surrounding these cars propagated by after market suppliers and people who repeat stuff they've heard to sound knowledgeable.

I wouldn't worry about heat soak, you get a minor drop off in power that's it. As Stephanie says, the car hits a brick wall about 130 mph so it doesn't make much difference. If you're looking for a car with big top speed this isn't it. It has massive acceleration and sublime handling and feedback.
