Looking at buying a new toy to use as abit of a track car.
I've seen a Exige S but it's a cat d due to clam damage and has been fully repaired
The price is about 5k cheaper then a non cat d with the same sort of spec
Is it worth paying the extra for a non cat d as is likely to hold its money better
But as it's gonna be used on track is there no point and get the cat d

Its all relative. Price differentials are maintained in all cases. When the S'2 prices rise, so too will the Cat D car. For a track car wouldn't be at all concerned. Cat D is supposed to be about superficial damage. It does affect the value of the car, and always will but is far from being a serious note against the car. With a bit of luck there may even be photos of the repairs

It doesn't take much to make these cars Cat D but I'd be surprised if it was just clam damage, unless it was front AND back. Have you seen photos of before?
