Exige S V6 and Track Day Noise Limits
Discussion
I'm looking to book Bedford in my Exige having not done any track days in it. Noise limit is 101 dB static and 87dB drive by. Am I likely to have any issues in meeting these levels running a standard exhaust?
I'm aware the valve opens around 5000rpm, but either way, if it passes the static is there a risk it may not pass the drive by? I'd prefer not to waste money if my chances aren't good or I'm likely to be pulled off track after the first lap?

I was at Bedford yesterday in an Exige V6 with the standard exhaust. Registered 98 static (with valve open) and had a noise board on what was my first stint to get up to speed!
I then kept the revs to around 5k max, occasionally 6k and despite one further noise board when I was overtaking another car at full acceleration it was fine. The Exige has so much torque it didn't really spoil the day. In fact I think I was much quicker and smoother riding a gear higher than I might have chosen (no need for 2nd gear for example).
I haven't had any other issues with noise at other UK circuits. My advice would be to stick the the left hand side of the main straight. They've put around 5 or 6 noise meters down the right hand side of the straight. My experience with other cars is that Bedford seems to be more sensitive to the prevailing wind direction.
Either that or the Yellow cars are just louder than other colours.
