I've been searching online for absolute *minutes* I can't find a list of exterior colours that were available when the Elise first came out in 1996! If anyone can point me in the right direction to find this information, I'd appreciate it!

Awesome, thanks for that list. It is definitely useful. I would still love to know which of those colours were available at the car's launch - if anybody knows!

I've still go all my original brochures, price lists, accessories, etc. from buying mine. At the very start, there were not many colours at all but Lotus quickly added specials, variants and limited edition models. Lotus also offered a bespoke paint service right from the outset with the Elise, so there will be a few cars out there in bespoke colours. That was a £1600 option when I bought mine.

Out of curiosity was the Atlantis blue pearl exclusively available on the millennium edition ?

I have seen cars with this paint but aren’t the millennium spec ie no 111s wheels or headlamp covers.

Not sure if the paint was exclusive but not all millennium editions had 111s wheels, mine for instance came with the S160 victory wheels from new (I was the second owner). It did have the headlamp covers but that's not to say someone hasn't removed them on cars you've seen. They also have the specific blue Alcantara interior which is obvious if not present.

Bit of a thread resurrection, but if anyone's still interested here is the letter and colour chart I received in 1996

Wow, that's exactly what I was looking for! The reason for the question was for a project long dead, but still very interesting.
I thought orange would have been an option... wasn't there an early press car that was orange?
