I am trying to determine what size anti-roll bar to fit in an attempt to reduce the snap oversteer tendency for my S1 Elise. As a starting point, an someone confirm what the original fitment was? I have so far been told two different sizes, 16 and 19mm diameter?

Thanks

Not sure on the ARB diameter, but what other suspension mods do you have?

I only ask as I have Nitron suspension and recently fitted stiffer springs. As a result, without lowering the car on the spring platforms I had minimal droop travel on the rear particularly. At a recent sprint at Goodwood I went over a kerb and spun very quickly, no chance to catch it.

I have subsequently bought shorter springs and helper springs and on a recent spirited drive on a choppy country lane it behaved a lot better.

Just a thought, it might be worth you checking the ride heights and suspension set up. For example a set of Nitron/GAZ/Quantum shocks with intended lower ride height set up at standard height would cause you issues.

Stiffer front anti roll bar can actually decrease understeer on the Elise platform. The reason is that the more the car rolls, the more bump steer at the front which points the wheels to the outside of the corner and loses you grip.
