Hi all,

Having recently sold a rather hardcore garage toy, i'm on the lookout for something to replace it with.

Having never owned a Lotus, i'm very interested in the brand....

Exige Roadster is out of my budget (£25-30k)
So, which Elise?
Use: Weekend fun blasts, occasional weekends away with SHMBO, not too interested in track days, so something at the 'softer' end of the scale would suit. A supercharged version sounds fun and i'd like to pick a derivative with relatively solid residuals, but not an 'investment'.

Any pointers ?

Thanks in advance!

I think an Elise SC (supercharged) with touring pack should suit you. It's got nice bits like sound deadening, ac and a cup holder (!)
They were made from 2008 to 2010 in the 'old' S2 shape. Expect to pay £23-25k for a nice one.
Fyi I bought one in 2013 for £25k and sold it for £25.5k after doing 20,000 miles in it so residuals are still rock solid.
They cost peanuts to service, insure and tax and consumables (tyres, brakes) are also incredibly reasonable.
Good luck.

Agree, for road use/touring a late Elise SC is a good buy. You are looking for the ZS engine I think over the earlier 2ZZ.

Low running costs and rock solid prices make finding a good one worthwhile.

Yep would agree with the previous contributors. I had an SC, they are also very quick and fantastic handling.

They all have solid residuals. I have a 111R going soon frown but I don't think I'll have lost much over my 3 years of ownership (other than running costs). Get yourself over to SELOC for a wealth of knowledge smile
