Bit of an odd one, this. I've just been out for a long drive in my S1 and noticed that the temp wasn't showing much beyond 60 dergees or so. Then when I parked up the car it shot up to around 78, and when I switched off the engine you could see the temp dropping by 3 or 4 degrees every second. Which doesn't sound right. I wonder whether the sensor is broken or has come loose perhaps? seems very erratic.
Any thoughts?
Cheers,
Richard

Probably a faulty sensor - blue and brown one's towards the back of the engine compartment iirc. Check/replace those first.

Sounds like your thermostat may be stuck open to me if it is running low then rising when you are stopped

Read you message re temp display. Got a 111s S1 and have noticed running temperature between low 70's up to low 80's when in traffic. Got a feeling probably similar problem. Have you got anything sorted?

I've got exactly the same with my S1 111s, spoke to garage about it and they said sounds like one of the sensors (either blue of brown, can't remember which) as faulty. They suggested taking it in for them to have a look at, but they would say that wouldn't they!
